Participant Relief Due to the Declared National Emergency Effective March 1, 2020
The Internal Revenue Service and the federal Department of Labor announced that the time from March 1, 2020, to a date which is 60 days after the announced end to the national emergency, which was declared by President Trump due to COVID-19, will be disregarded for several legal time periods. This means that you will have until 60 days after the announced end of this national emergency to respond to any action that is required or permitted to be completed, including appeals.
Please understand that you do not have to wait to submit your response. You can do it at any time before 60 days have passed after the announced end of this national emergency. However, you will not be late if you decide to wait until some later time which is no longer than 60 days after the federal government announces the end of the national emergency due to COVID-19.
