Dependent Child Turns 26

Adult children up to age 26, regardless of marital, student or tax dependent status, may remain eligible for the Plan’s medical coverage. Coverage is the same as for any other dependent.

When your dependent child turns 26, the child is no longer eligible for coverage under the Health Plan. The child may be eligible for COBRA Coverage for up to 36 months.

Also, when your child turns 26, they should find out about Special Enrollment Period options with Covered California, the Silver State Health Insurance Exchange for Nevada residents, or the Health Insurance Marketplace option available in other states.

Plan Checklist

  • Continuation Coverage can continue for up to thirty-six months provided timely payments are made.
